Scooter Libby was convicted of perjury because he didn’t remember an inconsequential discussion about a nobody, Joe Wilson. For his crime, he was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison, fined a quarter of million dollars, with two years of supervised release and 400 hours of community service.
Now we have a White House that under fire and they would be wise to remember the Ghost of Scooter Libby. (OK…Scooter is still alive…but his political career is dead)
People in the White House pushed a half billion dollar loan to Solyndra, a failing solar power company. The White House rushed the Office of Budget and Management (OMB) in order to promote their green jobs agenda. When the company finally went belly up, people started to look closer at the relationship between the White House and the company. The White House has been in cover-up mode ever since.
Hearings begin tomorrow to discover the true extend of the White House efforts to push the bad loan. I would suggest they be very careful, be consistent and tell the truth. It was the Democrats that made working in Washington dangerous and it is the Democrats that could now pay a price for the precedent the set.
