During the Bush years, the debt was the worst thing ever. Liberals lamented how much debt was created by the “Bush Tax Cut”. Now some liberals are tying to sell the idea that the exploding debt is no longer a problem.
My position has always been…
- little debt = little problem
- big debt = big problem
The Liberal position seems to be:
- little debut = big problem
- big debut = little problem
I would argue with liberals if they actually had any core beliefs…but they don’t. Arguing with them is like pinning jello to the wall. It’s frustrating. Eventually you figure the exercise is pointless because Liberals are composed of such little substance.
General Powell supported Barack Obama in 2008. I wonder if he still does? Let’s review what has become know as the “Powell Doctrine”.
- Is a vital national security interest threatened?
- Do we have a clear attainable objective?
- Have the risks and costs been fully and frankly analyzed?
- Have all other non-violent policy means been fully exhausted?
- Is there a plausible exit strategy to avoid endless entanglement?
- Have the consequences of our action been fully considered?
- Is the action supported by the American people?
- Do we have genuine broad international support?
I give Obama 1 for 8. He did have “broad international support”, but he fails on the first 7.
And if there is any question: I have absolutely no respect for General Powell who supported President Obama because he wanted a transformative President who would do things in new ways…like subverting free market capitalism and starting drone wars.
Lisa Jackson from the EPA went on the Daily Show to claim that
Mercury is a neurotoxin. It destroys our children’s brains, oftentimes before they are born.
Her goal is to regulate mercury emission from power plants. While you contemplate what even more regulation will do to the price of energy, chew on these facts.
- There is no evidence that mercury emissions from U.S. power plants, about one percent of global emissions, have caused any harm to any child’s brain, before or after birth; and
- Mercury has not “destroyed” anyone’s brain in any reasonable interpretation of that word.

As my previous post says…this administration is purposely driving up the price of energy. They won’t tell you that, but liberals never tell you what their real goal is. American are vehemently opposed to liberal ideals.
That’s why they shroud their plans in noble sounding causes like protecting the brains of our children.
The President thinks you should trade in your gas guzzling SUV for a tiny death-trap and if you don’t like it, he will push you to his green goal through CAFE standards and high gas prices.
What President Obama failed to accomplish through the so-called ‘cap and trade’ program, his administration is attempting to accomplish through regulatory roadblocks, energy tax increases, and other targeted efforts to prohibit development of domestic energy resources…read more
The polar bear has become the emotional symbol used by the Global Warming alarmists. They want you to look at the cute white bears and wonder what’s going to happen to them.
I want to assure you that they are doing fine.
The Polar Bear Specialist Group of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the organization of scientists that has attempted to monitor the global polar bear population since the 1960s, has issued a report indicating that there was no change in the overall global polar bear population in the most recent four-year period studied….read more
Mark Steyn ties our Treasury Secretary Tim Geitner to the disgraced head of the IMF Dominique Strauss-Kahn. The connection is their arrogance and the herd mentality of the those making the rules.
A lifetime of devoted “public service” in “socialist” France isn’t yet as remunerative as in Mubarak’s Egypt or Saddam’s Iraq, but we’re getting there. As the developed world drowns under the weight of Big Government, the gilded princelings of statism will hunker down in their interior courtyards and guard their privileges ever more zealously. Once in a while, as in that Manhattan hotel suite, a chance encounter between the seigneurs and their subjects will go awry, but more often, as in the Geithner confirmation, it will be understood that the Great Men of the Permanent Governing Class cannot be bound by the rules they impose on the rest of you schmucks…read more
This is legal corruption, but corruption. I am convinced that corruption is the greatest threat to economic growth. How can an economy run well when those who are suppose to keep the game fair and in fact the biggest offenders.
Government does not create wealth. Government can transfer wealth, but it rarely does so in a way to help the economy. Check out the chart below from a PowerLineBlog post title “Repent! The End of Keynesian Economics Is At Hand!”

Notice that government spending stayed pretty even from 1998 to 2008. During that time we had period of job growth and job decline. Since 2008, government spending has increased dramatically. Some jobs may have been saved but overall the numbers are WAY down. (more…)

Funny, it’s easy for some people to accept that artistic freedom is good for art, but they still have trouble accepting that economic freedom is good for the economy.

If Congress insists on investigating “price fixing”, I suggest they give up on oil companies. They have tried road before and it is always a dead end. Congress should investigate price fixing at American Universities where the price has outpaced inflation for years.
The CBO, Congress and the President often give their 10 year projections. Politicians often tout how their plan will save X amount of dollars over ten years…and they always use the CBO as some source of legitimacy.
The CBO’s projections are not worth the paper they are written on. Read:
RomneyCare…ObamaCare…there’s not much of a difference. Let’s just call it OmneyCare.
So if you want a preview of what we are all in for, read how RomneyCare has effected Massachusetts.
A new survey released yesterday by the Massachusetts Medical Society reveals that fewer than half of the state’s primary care practices are accepting new patients, down from 70% in 2007, before former Governor Mitt Romney’s health-care plan came online. The average wait time for a routine checkup with an internist is 48 days. It takes 43 days to secure an appointment with a gastroenterologist for chronic heartburn, up from 36 last year, and 41 days to see an OB/GYN, up from 34 last year…read more
These are not short term effects. These plans will effect decisions of our brightest students just entering college. This will effect medical students selecting a specialty. This will effect older doctors who are near retirement.
Mitt’s time was 2008 and he lost. It is my opinion that his campaign is over before it even starts.

This gem is from Barack Obama back in 2008
…we’ve been talking about high gas prices in this country since Americans were sitting in gas lines in the 1970s. And we’ve heard promises about energy independence from every President – Democratic and Republican – since Richard Nixon. And yet the only thing that’s different now is that we are even more dependent on foreign oil, our planet is in even greater peril, and the price of gas keeps going up and up and up.

…and then he becomePresident, and what did he do. Barack promised energy independence through renewable sources just like every other president who came before him. Again..he wasted our money.
We get the same answer because all these politicians have the same mindset. They think that innovation is driven by government. They believe that throwing money at a problem solves the problem, and it doesn’t matter how many times they fail.
What does Barack Obama know about energy? Are there engineering course hidden in those secret college transcripts? Why on Earth does he think he and his cronies can pick the what form of energy is best for 300 million people?
He believes it because he is arrogant. He has been told his whole life how wonderful he is. Well, he is not. He is not wonderful and he is not smart. A smart man would know his limitations. A smart man would learn from mistakes of the past.
Barack Obama is symbolic of all that is wrong with America. We relinquish too many decision that effect our daily lives to those who claim to be smart and empathetic. It’s time for Americans to stand up, take care of themselves and demand to be independent and free.
When you study the history of technology, it is irritating to hear pin heads claim microprocessors came from alien spacecrafts. I find it insulting to assume that a technology was stolen just because the technology is inconceivable to the ill informed.
Did we steal this from aliens too:
Intel Corporation today announced a significant breakthrough in the evolution of the transistor, the microscopic building block of modern electronics. For the first time since the invention of silicon transistors over 50 years ago, transistors using a three-dimensional structure will be put into high-volume manufacturing. Intel will introduce a revolutionary 3-D transistor design called Tri-Gate, first disclosed by Intel in 2002, into high-volume manufacturing at the 22-nanometer (nm) node in an Intel chip codenamed “Ivy Bridge.” A nanometer is one-billionth of a meter.

The march to better technology continues.
This country has fostered individual achievement that has advancement beyond our wildest dreams. But instead of giving credit where it is due, some would rather assume we stole the technology from aliens and horded for our own benefit.

If I were not born in the United States, I would be less free. Yes, we have an administration that works daily to diminish my freedom and various movements dedicated to controlling my life, but these entities have little staying power in this great country.
No where else in the world are the citizens as strong and ready to fight for freedom as they are here. We can see hints for revolution around the world, but I’m not sure they are fights for liberty. Those who want to push Sharia certainly won’t build free societies. State run democracies are just communists with good PR. There are socialist, Marxists, Islamists, anarchist and many other groups and they are all fighting for one thing: control.
There are other countries that have of the same freedoms we enjoy, but these people live under the protection of our defense umbrella. Only in the United States are the classic liberals articulate enough to argue for freedom and strong enough to fight any who wish to deny us.
