Let’s build a hypothetical. Suppose you had two mechanics looking a car that wasn’t running smoothly.

One mechanic says:

It ran smoothly last week. Let’s figure out what went wrong and restore the broken parts.

That seems pretty reasonable. Then the second mechanic says:

Let’s convert it to run on vegetable oil so that is is even better than last week.

Obviously, the second mechanic is taking the radical approach, but that is not what the Senate majority leader would have you believe. Harry Reid says the Tea Partiers are radical because they want to restore this country to the vision of the founders. He believes reasonable approach is to embrace Barack Obama’s transformation of America.

In liberal la-la land:

restore = radical

transform = reasonable

accelerating spending stops you from going bankrupt

buying insurance after you have a problem is a smart system

halting gas, oil and nuclear power makes you energy independent

people who are 14 trillion dollars in debt are worried you won’t save your own money for retirement

Those drugs in the 60s must have long lasting effects.

You old tea party ladies are radical man

You old tea party ladies are radical

China is inflating real estate bubble…a bubble far greater than the one that burst in the United states in 2008.

The central government sets a GDP target…and the easiest way to do it is just to build.

They are building expensive homes with no buyers…kind of a shovel ready stimulus project. Here in the U.S., we just spend trillions on nothing. It’s hard to say which is worse.

It seems the people need a serious dose of free market capitalism. Even though this ridiculous bubble was created by the government, a man who lives in a tiny one room house says

We need the government to intervene

The government has intervened. They have decided to build homes no one can afford. This poor man then falls back on a communist philosophy…something we hear in this country too often

If the government considered us and provided budget housing as part of our human rights, that’d be the right thing to do.

The hoax that is global warming is still unraveling. Steve McIntyre shows how some data was falsified by clipping off the inconvenient data.

Clipped data used to falisify hockey stick data

This data comes from a report by Briffa and Osborn in 1999 and was used as evidence to support the Michael Mann hockey stick warming data. Steve McIntrye explains how their computer code shows that they knew this data existed and chose to clip it off. Read the details

What bugs me is that I have to listen to pin heads on TV who majored in journalism belittle guys like me who don’t buy into this so-called “science”.

Forget 9/11. That wasn’t a man made disaster. That was terrorism. Look no further than Australia to find a man made disaster.

Back in January, Australia was reeling from the Brisbane floods. I noted it, thought it was a shame and haven’t thought much about it since. That’s my luxury since it is nearly on the exact opposite side of the world.

Here something I didn’t know. The Brisbane flood was considered a damn-release-flood. The government agency that operates of the damn claimed that 1 in 2000 year rain fall forced him to release the water. That assertion is being called into question.

But no such rainfall event was measured by any rainfall gauges. Instead, the claim was manufactured by SEQWater after it modelled the rapid rise of levels in the dam, repositioned rainfall data to an area immediately upstream of the dam, and then doubled it.

My father graduated from the Citadel Military Academy. He didn’t have a long career in the military, but his time there contributed to his character and helped to shape the decent and honest man I have always known him to be.

He is planning on attending his 50th Reunion this year. Many of his classmates have passed. Some from war. Some from age. I hope they all have a great time. They deserve it.

As a teenager, I didn’t get it. I grew up during a period where spitting on soldiers was accepted, movies portrayed them as mindless or crazy and the President pardoned those who would rather run than fight. I figured I was not the type to take orders and I passed on the military. My brothers did not join either. I think this was a great disappointment to my father, but he never really pressed us.

I get it now. If I had my youth to live over again, I would have served. I have many regrets and most of them pass quickly, but having never served at the wall to protect my country comes back time and again.

Does this pass the smell test?

  1. GE’s CEO Jeffery Immelt and Barack Obama are close friends. President Obama has appointed him as an adviser.
  2. GE Capital is not a bank, but TARP restrictions where loosened so that GE could receive billions of dollars in government bailouts
  3. GE has laid off approximately 20% of its US workforce while simultaneously increasing its worldwide sales force
  4. GE has invested heavily in green technologies
  5. GE is lobbying for cap and tax legislation
  6. GE has spent hundreds of millions of dollars lobbying for tax loopholes
  7. GE made billions of dollars in 2010
  8. GE paid no taxes in 2010

GE Stinks to high heaven. I just restocked my kitchen with appliances and I had only one demand that was unwavering.

No GE!

Last year, Social Security ran a deficit.

The Center for American Progress (CAP) says Social Security is not in trouble.

Social Security has built up two trust funds and invested them in government bonds since 1983, which will allow it to cover the forecasted shortfalls through 2037.

These geniuses believe that the government will pay back the debt that it owes itself.

Think about that. The government has been using the Social Security surpluses for years, and still they ran deficits. Now it is time to pay the piper. Social Security not only has dried up as a source of revenue, but now that agency needs its money back. A double whammy to the government outside the Social Security Administration. Delusional progressives are still holding to the story that there’s plenty of money.

So the CAP may be right that Social Security is solvent, but that won’t be of much benefit since the rest of the government will collapse under the weight of unsustainable debt.

Red and Black may look OK as a fashion statement…I guess…I don’t concern myself with such trivial crap.

Over at Instapundit, Glenn Reynolds post some discussion of how the so called anarchists are really extreme statists. They are only looking to take down the current government so they can sweep in and install a communist government.

Remember the nonsense that ideal communism would lead to a classless, stateless society. That is the philosophy as laid out by intellectuals. Of course, it didn’t work out that way. Instead of communism leading to less government, it lead to extreme, heartless government. Their ideal state was destroyed by human nature and evil. Hundreds of millions died because the philosophers and elites were wrong.

The red and black on a communist/anarchist flag don’t go together. Communist/anarchist is an oxymoron perpetrated by morons.

The protesters in Britain have been identified as anarchist. They are carrying red and black flags. I little research…A VERY LITTLE RESEARCH WAS REQUIRED…told me that the red and black flag is an  anarchist communist group.

Is there any surprise the media left that “communist” part out? Of course not. They want you to have sympathy for the protesters. Most Americans would are disgusted by these actions. They would be down-right pissed off if they knew it was communists.

Protesters have violently attacked in Britain and one response is clearly wrong.

Ministers should now seriously reconsider their whole strategy after today’s demonstration

Dealing with these protesters is like dealing with terrorist. If you give in to their demands, they will only demand more.
Unfortunately, the left in Britain is embracing this horrid action. (Horrid…I’m trying to sound British)

The White House press secretary Jim Carney says that we are not in a war with Libya. He referred to it as a:

a time-limited, scope-limited military action

I have another phrase for it

A multi-billion dollar PR stunt.

If our mission in Libya is a noble one, why does our president refuse to take the lead? There seems to be a pattern here. He refuses to take the lead on budget matters. He refused to take to lead when they were writing the health care law. He let Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid lead that effort.

It’s a troubling pattern, but it should surprise no one. He was an academic, a college professor and legislator before being cast as the leader of the free world. His experience is talk, not action with measured results.

The previous post was about a leftist (Hugo Chavez) being detached from reality. Don’t lull yourself into believing this fantasy view of the world only happens in the 3rd World. It happens here at home all the time as well.

Lefties in this country are tying to sell the idea that there is no debt crisis. They contend that there is plenty of money. It’s just in the wrong hands. To them…that means it (the country’s wealth)  is out of their control.

Michael Moore said

Contrary to what those in power would like you to believe so that you’ll give up your pension, cut your wages, and settle for the life your great-grandparents had, America is not broke. Not by a long shot. The country is awash in wealth and cash. It’s just that it’s not in your hands.

When he says not in your hands…he was speaking to the unions. What he means is the government needs to take wealth from the people who create it and give it to the union workers.

Rachel Maddow (the unwatched host over at MSNBC) made the false claim:

Even though the state had started the year on track to have a budget surplus—now, there is, in fact, a $137 million budget shortfall

She doubled down on this falsehood by claiming that the shortfall was due to a tax break passed by Republicans. Everything would have been peachy if it wasn’t for those evil Republicans.

Al Gore had this to say:

Cricket…..Cricket….Cricket…..

He’s too busy counting the money that was taken from the American people and “invested” as stimulus in “green jobs”. Al Gore has now debt problem…YET.

Liberals! Listen Up! We can’t sustain the level of current level of spending. The past was funded by bubbles. Those bubbles have burst. We can’t fix it with a new bubble…which is exactly what President Obama tried with a trillion dollar stimulus boondoggle. You can’t keep the public sector growing while the private sector shrinks. Wake up. It’s time to leave dream world.

NOTE: Written as if lefties read what conservative write. That’s my little fantasy.
