Words have no meaning. The Constitution is a living document that bends to the wishes of those who want “progress”. What are we progressing toward? What are we moving away from? We are moving away from a people and a time when freedom from tyranny was worth dying for. We are moving toward an all powerful federal government that can do as they wish without the people consent (ObamaCare anyone?).
We must keep the kids away from the radical ideas of freedom and morality. Don’t let them know that our Founding Fathers built this county based on ideals taken from religion. Old works must be redefined in terms of secularism and moral equivalency. Your rights are no longer given by God. They are granted (and therefore can be taken) by the government.
Secondly, they make the claim that “No part of this book may be used or reproduced in any manner without written permission except for brief quotations for review purposes only.” So let me get this straight. We can only reproduce “brief quotes” of the Constitution unless A&D publishing gives us permission? Who gave them the rights to our founding documents.

Race is a sensitive subject. Most people avoid it at all costs, but their is genetic work on Neanderthals that have racial overtones.
Biologist have been deconstructing the Neanderthals genome to discover if interbreeding occurs between humans and Neanderthals. A major question to be answered interbreeding lead to two separate human gene pools.
The Leipzig group’s interbreeding theory would undercut the present belief that all human populations today draw from the same gene pool that existed a mere 50,000 years ago. “What we falsify here is the strong out-of-Africa hypothesis that everyone comes from the same population,” Dr. Paabo said.
In his and Dr. Reich’s view, Neanderthals interbred only with non-Africans, the people who left Africa, which would mean that non-Africans drew from a second gene pool not available to Africans.

This is not going to devolve into which race is better than the other. The important issue is how does this effect peoples health. How does coming from a different gene pool effect resistance to disease? How do these genetic difference play out in the response to drugs? Liberals want there to be equal outcomes (versus equal opportunity). But if we start off different, how can we ever reach the liberal utopia of equal outcomes. The fact that people of African descent have shorter life expectancies might be an indicator of genetic differences….not a racist society.
We are all human. We all have the same rights, but we are different. This seems so logical to me and so radical to some. I guess we will never find common ground.
We need to get past that everyone is the same. We are not. Liberals won’t even admit that women are different than men. Larry Summers got fired as the President of Harvard for suggesting that difference between men and women might play a part overwhelming majority of science students being male. One woman professor from MIT claimed that she became physically ill when she heard the question. I find it hard to believe that these same people could accept two different gene pools.
It will be interesting to follow this research. Will it get squashed under the weight of political correctness.

The Democrats have ruled Philly since the 1950s and the city has suffered. The Population continues to flee, the city is broke, the education system is horrible, violence is at times completely out of control and the government is corrupt. You would think that eventually the voters would throw the bums out for the opposition party…except in Philly…the opposition party is in complete disarray. The local GOP is controlled by one man who will use any tactic to hold on to his little fiefdom.
The party leaders get their power from the committee people, and who are these committee people. Her is the story of one:
On paper, Joan Chapman looks like a political candidate who knows how to hustle.
In a single day in early March, she identified 10 Republican voters in this largely Democratic city and affixed their signatures to her petition to run as a GOP committee person in the Fifth Ward.
But there are a few strange things about Joan Chapman.
The only person with that name in voter registration records is a Democrat. And city election officials say that Joan Chapman came off the rolls in 2002, after the state Department of Health told them she had died.
To run for a party committee, you must be a registered voter and belong to the party you plan to represent. If you say you are a registered nurse, as Joan Chapman did on her petition, that should be true, too. It’s not, according to Pennsylvania state records.
And, of course, you must be alive.

Two thirds of the GOP committee spots in Philadelphia are unfilled. It is time for the people of Philadelphia to grab that power and shape the Philly GOP in their image. The city will only improve when the party in power has legitimate opposition.

Over at Cafe Hayek:
Gullibility is tolerable in children because kiddies have little decision-making authority. But gullibility in adults is dangerous. And no species of gullibility is as dangerous as that which leads adults such as Mr. Dionne to “trust” that a handful of people hungry for power and the privilege of spending taxpayers’ money, will – once chosen by voters – cast off their human vanities and ignorance to become selfless saviors of millions upon millions of strangers whom these officials will never as much as lay their eyes on.

Science geeks know that Venus is hot. Very hot. What is not widely known, and often mistaken, is why Venus is so hot. Pop scientist like Carl Sagen claimed that Venus had a runaway greenhouse effect. It may sound plausible…until you think about it. Anthony Watts explains why greenhouse gases on Venus are not to blame at his great blog Watts Up With That.
The high temperatures there can be almost completely explained by atmospheric pressure – not composition. If 90% of the CO2 in Venus atmosphere was replaced by Nitrogen, it would change temperatures there by only a few tens of degrees.

If you don’t understand the physics, ask a friend who does. You will be convinced that pop-scientist like Carl Sagen are (were) like rock stars. They get their positions because of political correctness and style and not because of talent and intellect.

Racism is when you treat people differently based on the color of their skin. Tea Party supporters are not racist because they oppose higher taxes. They oppose higher taxes regardless of who signed the law. On the other hand, liberals constantly separate people by race. The most egregious case has surfaced in Ann Arbor:
An Ann Arbor elementary school principal used a letter home to parents tonight to defend a field trip for black students as part of his school’s efforts to close the achievement gap between white and black students.
This is even worse than the separate but equal policy found in the deep south in the 1950′s. The Mike Madison (the black principal) gave a treat to the black students. Asians weren’t invited. Hispanics weren’t invited. Only black students. Unlike the manufactured racism charge put forth by despicable liberals, this is genuine racism. This is the kind of racism that leads to resentment and violence.
James Taranto (a normally insightful guy) says he doesn’t doubt Mr. Madison good intentions. I do. Would you doubt the intentions of a white principal who kept the story the same, but changed races? I would. All I am asking for is consistancy.
Tea Partiers are dumb because their taxes haven’t gone up. Have you heard that one?
ObamaCare (which is the law of the land) will impose a 3.8 percent* on home sales and other real estate transactions, including rental income. Since most middle class people hold a majority of their wealth in their homes, this tax is going to hit them the hardest. Of course this tax won’t go into effect until after the next Presidential election. Regardless of when it goes into effect, it is an Obama tax increase.
Tea Partiers understand the games being played. It is the Obama supporters spouting the “your taxes haven’t gone up” nonsense who are either dumb or dishonest.
UPDATE: It looks like the 3.8% tax is only on realized gains of over $250,000 for individuals earning more than $125K, or for realized gains of over $500,000 for individuals earning over $250K. There was already a tax on these gains, so this is an additional 3.8%. The value of homes has dropped so much in the last few years, I expect not many people will be paying this tax for a while.

According to Marc Faber,
The market is telling you that something is not quite right,” Faber, the publisher of the Gloom, Boom & Doom report, said in a Bloomberg Television interview in Hong Kong today. “The Chinese economy is going to slow down regardless. It is more likely that we will even have a crash sometime in the next nine to 12 months.

Why should we care? Because without the Chinese buying our debt, the selling bonds to fund our debt becomes impossible. Interest rates will go up and the government will be forced to cut programs while raising taxes…kinda like the current state of Greece. The slackers that work for the for useless government bureaucracies while making twice what their counterparts in the private sector make won’t give up their goody-bag easily.

Remember the Chinese Curse: May you live in interesting times.

It can’t be good that the mayor of the biggest terrorist target in America is blind to the threat. This is what Mayor Bloomberg had to say about this weekend’s Times Square bomber:
If I had to guess 25 cents, this would be exactly that. Homegrown, or maybe a mentally deranged person, or somebody with a political agenda that doesn’t like the health care bill or something.
Elitist like Bloomberg are so detached from reality that they can’t see where the violence is coming from. There was violence this weekend, but it came from the left (communist and/or anarchist) and radical Islam.
What does it say about our leaders (like Bloomberg and Obama) that they are so quick to attack Americans and our allies, yet they so easily overlook the evil of our enemies.
The federal government has accumulated massive debt.
Citizens from both the left and the right are protesting the government (immigration and taxes)
The biggest sponsor of terror (Iran) is about to go nuclear.
There is a huge ecological disaster unfolding in the Gulf of Mexico
Pensions are driving local communities and states deep into the red
Whole countries in Europe of failing (Greece, Spain…probably a lot more)
The government is posturing to put a huge tax on energy consumption
New taxes in investments will soon go into effect (ObamaCare)
The Bush Tax cuts will soon expire
Yet, through all of this…the DOW continues to climb.
If you have money in stocks. Watch out. Things always look peachy right before the crash.

Read this account and then remember it is the tea party movement that is radical and dangerous. (Hat tip to Michelle Malkin)
About an hour later we were heading to a concert on the NYU campus, and started walking down Broadway toward Astor Place. We started hearing lots of police sirens all at once, and then looked straight ahead. There were young guys with baseball bats and Che signs pinned to their backpacks running down the street smashing store windows, all on the west side of Broadway. We stopped dead on a corner, because there were police cars coming from so many different directions the street lights were rendered meaningless. As soon as we stopped, about 6 NYPD units pulled up to our exact corner and the cops jumped out and tackled two of the vandals literally TWO FEET in front of me. Some other officers arrived, jumped out of their cars, and started a crazy foot pursuit of another guy who started running in zig-zags down the middle of Broadway. They tackled him as well, in the middle of the freakin’ street, as cars kept almost hitting everyone involved. It happened incredibly quickly. There were tons of eyewitnesses, and I even saw a few people videotaping, but of course I can’t find mention of this incident anywhere online or in the media. We had about five minutes to get to the concert, so stopping and gawking wasn’t an option. We just kept walking, tried to get away from the whole mess. But we could see and hear police interviewing plenty of witnesses, and heard people say “they just kept breaking windows”, and saw the perps with their faces in the pavement for ourselves. I could describe them to you, but that would be utterly and totally racist.

Did you see any of this in the news. Nah…MSNBC, CBS and ABC all report that the new Arizona law is “controversial”. 70% of Americans support it. That’s funny because that is about the same percentage that opposed Obamacare…yet Arizona’s law is controversial. See how that works?
Now I have been to a tea part and I have to admit there were uncomfortable moments. For instance, when the tea partiers sang “God Bless America”, they obviously had no professional training and they were way off key.

The pension bomb for unionized public employees is ticking. Unlike the bomb that fizzled in Times Square this weekend, this one will surely explode.
Last month, a panel from Stanford University concluded that California’s public employee pensions were underfunded by $500 billion. That’s about $35,700 per California household. Nationally, the American Enterprise Institute estimates that state pension funds are more than $3 trillion short.
The problem is twofold. Many states have lavish programs that allow workers to retire in their 50s with ample pensions — and health insurance to cover them until Medicare kicks in. Second, regardless of how generous their benefits, some states have simply failed to put away adequate funds to cover them.
These lavish programs are a good deal for public employees and politicians seeking their votes. But the deal is a bitter pill for taxpayers, most of whom are private sector workers without the types of benefits that state and local workers see as their right.

The Democrats in Congress are using regulations to extort money from evil American companies:
The FTC does much the same thing. They target a particular company that’s having success in the natural products marketplace, then they accuse that company of “inferring” that their products have some health benefit. From there, the FTC demands that the company engage in paying a massive fine to the FTC, which the FTC calls “consumer redress” even though none of the money actually goes to the consumers.
If you try to fight the FTC, they haul you into their own special “FTC courts” which are not public courts where you have the benefit of a jury, but rather they are courts where the judges are actually FTC employees and you have no rights. You are essentially guilty until proven innocent, and virtually no one has been found innocent by the FTC.

To be honest, I have no idea if this is true or not…but it fits the pattern of Congressional Democrats.
