President Obama used the Easter vacation as an opportunity to make 15 appointments, skipping the Senate approval process. Unlike many in the GOP, I don’t believe the recess appointments are the problem. The president should be able to appoint those that he wants as long as they are competent and ethical. Radical is not ground for dismissing a Presidential appointment. If the label “radical” was the standard, then conservatives would never get a chance to govern since so many of today’s enlightened think that free market capitalism is “radical”.

The problem is that Obama has once again hand picked a bunch of radicals. One such appointment is Craig Becker. Mr. Becker was a lawyer for SEIU. His views on union elections are quite public and quite radical. The WSJ ends their review this way:

Mr. Becker has a confirmation hearing coming up, and Senators should ask him to explain why someone who wants to rig the rules to favor unionization should sit on a panel that is supposed to enforce fairness in union elections.

Of course, Mr. Becker won’t have to answer those questions now. We will just assume that our president has no interest in enforcing fairness in union elections.

Obama ran as a pragmatist and a centrist. What is apparent to anyone paying attention is that he is a radical liberal. He still talks nice, but his speeches are meaningless. His actions that speak volumes.
