We are in the midst of a never ending battle, and I’m not talking about the War on Terror. I am talking about health care. Like abortion, this battle has been going on for years and it has no end in sight. Liberals and Progressives feel that the timing is right to move toward socialized medicine. It looks like they will be disappointed. Here in Chester County, there is a group of Democrats who have given up on the President’s plan and have organized to push for socialized medicine on the state level (read more).

Viewed from the other end of the political spectrum, health care is also in need of reform. Conservatives have watched the slow crawl toward socialized medicine. Nothing strikes fear in the hearts of conservatives like losing the health care debate.  It is seen as a doorway for many more liberal policies. Once the cost of your health becomes a liability for the community, the community is likely to demand life style norms…norms put forth and enforced by liberals. It is a serious challenge to our liberties and freedoms.

No matter what passes in Washington, the battle will rage on.
