Power Line Blog discusses a report that claims Green Jobs come at a tremendous cost to tax payers. Barack Obama holds out Denmark as what is possible with wind farms and green jobs, but he ignores the cost or the fact that wind provides a fraction of the power required even for small country like Denmark.

The Danes retain the title of world’s most prolific wind producer, and President Obama cites their experience as a path to be followed. The cost? Danish ratepayers are forced to pay the highest utility rates in Europe. And the American people are led to believe that, though wind may only provide a little more than one percent of our electricity now, reaching a 20 percent platform – as the Danes have allegedly done – will come at no cost, with no jobs lost and no externalities to consider.Speaking of jobs, the report also pulls back the curtain on the wind power industry’s near-complete dependence on taxpayer subsidies to support the fairly modest workforce it presently maintains. Just as in Spain, where per-job taxpayer subsidies for so-called “green jobs” exceeds $1,000,000 per worker in some cases, wind-related jobs in Denmark on average are subsidized at a rate of 175 to 250 percent above the average pay per worker. All told, each new wind job created by the government costs Danish taxpayers between 600,000-900,000 krone a year, roughly equivalent to $90,000-$140,000 USD.

Peter Suderman explains that the inflated number of Americans without health insurance used by Obama Health Care Reform supporters really are inflated number.

…there are reasons people are uninsured—they don’t bother signing up for assistance, they make too much money, they’re in between jobs, etc. It’s not random, and for many of those individuals, it may be possible to address the specific reasons rather force everyone into a one-size-fits-all mandatory insurance scheme. None of this is to deny that the current system is a terrible mess. But I do think the reform proposals floating through Washington right now will only make it messier.

The Administration can rename the war on terror, but the war is far from over.  In New York, authorities have taken pro-active steps to search and question 5 Afghan men.

The New York Times, citing an unnamed senior law enforcement official, said authorities had uncovered a small group of people who espoused a militant ideology aligned with al Qaeda.

The first photo is from the Presidential Inauguration. Notice the trash left EVERYWHERE by the pro-environment party.

obama fans3

There was never much comparison for conservatives. Conservative typically are more concerned about their own lives. They don’t protest or take up causes…that was until their freedom was attacked. This weekend, freedom supporters traveled to Washington to be heard. When they left, they took their trash with them.

conservatives

I’m sure that liberals will address this issue at future events, but the mindset is there for you to judge. Neither side has a monopoly on caring for the planet. We all want a clean environment. The difference in opinion and action is who should look after the environment. Conservative take it upon themselves…and liberals wait for the government to clean up after them.

Do conservative need to be preached to by a bunch of elitist slobs who expect other to pick up their trash?

Finally, the President Obama has made a statement that I can stand behind 100%

Terry Moran has twittered that “Pres. Obama just called Kayne West a “jackass”…

I’m sure the people who read this blog don’t listen to Kayne West (and many probably don’t even know who he is). To tell you the truth…I couldn’t name one song performed by Kayne. All I know is he is one of those hyper racial guys created by forces in this country who thrive when we split into groups.

The economic illiteracy and repeated errors by left-wing policy continues:

As we have long predicted on this blog, the health care “reformers” propose to finance at least part of the “savings” or new benefits — it is impossible to know which — by decreasing the rate of return on medical technology. There are many ways in which this might be done, but the Senate Democrats are proposing to do so directly, by levying a “value added tax” on medical device companies according to their proportion of U.S. sales. This tax would be without regard to profitability, so it would amount to a capital tax on start-ups and a massive income tax surcharge on profitable companies, varying as net margins do. In the case of my own mid-sized company, the tax would be the equivalent of a roughly 20% surcharge on our net income (in all likelihood raising our economic tax rate well above 50%) or 50% of our research and development budget, depending on how you want to look at it.

The massive tea party in Washington D.C. was a show of force by people who have never protested in their lives. Poll numbers show that the Democrats are losing support…just like 1993 all over again. According to Rasmussen:

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 44% would vote for their district’s Republican congressional candidate while 37% would opt for his or her Democratic opponent.

That’s a 14 point decline since Barack Obama took the oath. The contract with America didn’t come out until the election year, so to write off Republicans now would be a big mistake.

Dems out in 2010…that’s the change we are waiting for.

Let’s just hope Barack and his minions don’t totally mess up the country before we can extricate them.

Norman Borlaug isn’t as famous as he should be because he didn’t predict global catastrophe. Instead of proposing some global socialist agenda to ward off predictions from intellectual elites, he worked to solve the problem:

Norman Borlaug, the man who saved more human lives than anyone else in history, has died at age 95. Borlaug was the Father of the Green Revolution, the dramatic improvement in agricultural productivity that swept the globe in the 1960s. For spearheading this achievement, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1970.

As tens of thousands (maybe hundreds of thousands) gather in Washington D.C. and around the country a real grass root movement, MSNBC is carrying the Presidents astro-turf rally. Are we to believe that the President needs more time to get his message out? Aren’t the American people sick of this guy yet?

Fox on the other hand is going full time on the Tea Party rally.

You may think that these are two sides of the same coin, but they are not. The difference is GE.

Fox is a broadcaster. There is no big brother with an alterior motive funding their effort. They may have a bias, but they live and die on their viewership.

MSNBC has  a shrinking viewership and it doesn’t matter to them. Why? Because the do the bidding of GE and GE wants to get cozy with the Obama administration for a financial windfall.

The left may call Fox “Faus News”. They specialize in name calling, but the true evil here is GE. It is GE that would use it’s media outlet as propaganda in order to prop up their business and strengthen the government. This goes way beyond any cronyism or corporatism of the Bush years. The left was outraged by Halliburton, yet they embrace GE. It’s pitiful.

MSNBC and Fox News are not opposite sides of the same coin. MSNBC is a propaganda agent of a control hungry left wing determined to undermine our free market system.

Steny Hoyer has finally found something to talk about with Republicans. He wants to discuss how to punish Republican Representative Joe Wilson who shouted out “You Lie” during the President’s speech.

After Steny Hoyer comes to a consensus with Republicans on that hugely important detail, maybe they can sit down and discuss how to punish the 2 million American’s who were shouting the exact same thing at their TVs. Of course, I’m just kidding. There’s now way 2 million people with a lick of common sense were watching that awful speech (I could hear it in the other room while I worked on my computer).

I’m sick of hearing the same speech from our President with new catch phrases. It’s the same thing over and over.  It’s all about him.

Here’s a thought Mr. President. Why don’t you put your mind on a function that is permitted by the Constitution? Figure out how we are going to win “the good war” in Afghanistan…or are you taking your eyes off the ball.

From Andy McCarthy

For anyone with common sense and a willingness to look at what we were allowed to learn about Obama’s background and associations, nothing about Van Jones is the least bit surprising. Nothing about Obama’s penchant for government by radical, unaccountable czars is the least bit surprising. What is surprising is that smart people continue to treat these developments as if they were abberations that somehow happen independent of Obama, as if the president just needs to do a better job of vetting staffers. The selection of Van Jones is who Obama is and what he is about. Bad things are not happening to our president; our president is doing bad things — as we should have known he would.

From the American Thinker:

In the short time Obama and the radical left have been in power, they have worked hard to bleed our spirit and our energy with massive tax increases, corruption, cronyism, special interest entitlements, new regulations and the politicization of our institutions. They appease tyrants, siding against democracies, giving unredeemable despots status and legitimacy and prolonging the suffering of millions. They mouth the words of our founders to hide their true nature. They work to dismantle freedom after freedom, destroying what we have proudly fought for and so lovingly built. They do not revere what has made us great; they embrace all that will bring us down. They take success and call it failure, and demand we bow our heads and accept ridicule from those who cannot equal us.
