New York’s newest governor has admitted to using cocaine…and the AP reports, but buries his party affiliation again. You must deduce that he is a democrat from the second to last paragraph

In Monday’s interview, Paterson pointed out that he had acknowledged to a television journalist after a 2006 gubernatorial Democratic primary debate that he had used illegal drugs.

In a separate story, the mayor of Detroit is arraigned of felony charges. You must deduce his party by a statement 3/4 of the way down about his mother, which they fail to mention is the leader of the Congressional Black Caucus.

 His mother is Democratic U.S. Rep. Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick. 

Is there any doubt that if Paterson or Kilpatrick were a Republican, they would have an (R) next to his name in the first paragraph?
